The Spirit Lake-Okoboji doubles team of junior Wes Bergquist and sophomore Brandon Stoll competed at the Class 1A State Tennis Championships in Waterloo on Friday. The tandem won their opening match, 6-4, 6-2 over Katzureck and Phillips of Norwalk, but would fall in the second round of the championship bracket to the No. 1-ranked doubles team of Goerdt and Bernt from Waterloo Columbus Catholic. In the consolation bracket, Bergquist and Stoll dropped their first match to Loux and Johnson from Pella, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
