(Primghar)– A Sutherland man faces multiple charges after leading officers on a pursuit Sunday that went through two counties.Authorities say it started in Osceola county after authorities there received a report of a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle fled the area after the deputy arrived. It pulled into a farm place just north of the O’Brien/Osceola county line on Oak Hill Avenue in an attempt to hide from law enforcement. An O’Brien county deputy pulled into the farm place and the driver drove through the ditch, colliding with the Osceola County Deputy’s vehicle upon exiting the ditch. The suspect vehicle then continued south into O’Brien county, with law enforcement in pursuit. Officers then learned the vehicle matched the description of one that had been stolen from Spencer.Deputies followed the vehicle and it was eventually stopped north of Germantown. The driver refused to show his hands or unlock the driver’s door. A deputy broke the driver’s side window and placed the red targeting laser of his taser on the driver, who then complied and got out of the vehicle.Deputies confirmed the vehicle, a Dodge Journey, had been stolen from Spencer. The driver, 24-year-old Bradley Kots of Sutherland, was arrested on multiple traffic-related charges along with OWI 1st offense, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft in the 2nd degree and eluding.Authorities say Kots is also suspected of numerous vehicle thefts in northwest Iowa and that charges are pending the outcome of those investigations.
